I have a lease agreement between myself and my wife (tenants), and my mother and stepfather (landlords). It essentially says that we will be renting two bedrooms of my mothers house for $400/month. I had all parties sign and date this. If I submit this to the reception battalion when I get to BCT, will I receive the full amount of BAH for my dependents zip code? Thank you in advance for any information

Pay it back? He is married and on active duty, he should pull BAH at the rate for where ever he claims as his residence. I was never asked to produce a rent bill, you get a set amount and if you chose to live in a cardboard box, it's still the same BAH.

“Back pay,” not pay it back. In my experience, strating or changing any sort of pay allowance takes time, especially when you are a new recruit.

I haven't seen a lag time in allowances with initial entry soldiers or sailors. His packet should have went in as married, even if it didn't, they would correct it at reception. My son got married just before Navy Boot Camp and BAH was sent when it would normally hit. If you are in the system and active, it may miss a month depending on when that change hits during the pay cycle.

This brings me to another question, everywhere I read, it says bring copies of everything to reception. But my recruiter has stated that I won’t need copies of anything because it’s all already loaded onto the system because he put it all on there when I brought them to him. Is this correct? Do I need to bring hard copies of all my documents (lease, kids birth certs, SSIDs, etc) have been loaded into my electronic file?

Bring copies of everything better to have them then not have them.

Don't give out any originals just the copies.

Thank you all for the information. I was in contact with my recruiter today. He has stated that I won’t need to bring a copy of my lease or anything with me since it’s all already loaded into the system (he uploaded copies of everything to my electronic file). He also stated that if I move before I ship, not to worry about bringing a copy of my new lease because there’s is already one loaded in there.
