So I just been referred to MEB here in Korea as expected due to my profile restrictions and limitations regarding the new ACFT. I’ve been doing a lot of digging about the intire process of IDES, and can only find info regarding EUCOM. However I did hear from a few that I would receive orders for a WTU stateside rather quick after the referral. Is there any truth to this and if so can I get pointed in the right direction for doctrine?

Once you get assigned a PEBLO, you will get a lot more information.

If there is a PEBLO at your location you will receive your MEB at that location

Also, pay VERY close attention to the things you read. Read them thoroughly and understand what you are signing before you sign. The MEB process can move incredibly fast or it can drag out depending on the level of continued care you require. Once you have been assigned to a PEBLO, communicate consistently with them.

The new ACFT should not play a factor in a MEB at this time. It will not be counted against you until March 2022 and profiling standards for the ACFT are not in affect yet. If you have a condition that prevents you from service, then your PCM should give you a P3 based on the current condition not something that in the future would prevent a fitness test. It is possible to be selected and transferred to a WTU stateside, but it is not a guarantee for everyone in an MEB. There are entry criteria. MEBs can be conducted virtually and through email (even before COVID).

Remember, the MEB is specific to YOU! Backwards plan & stick to your defined goals. Don't stress it - you'll have your PEBLO, JAG assistance & plenty of opportunities to appeal. Don't downplay an injury or disability (think about how much worse you will feel years & decades down the road)! If you don't list every ailment now - it's gonna be hell trying to get the VA to grant you svc connection after the fact & without documentation.
I set by many Vietnam Vets that have been trying for decades to get a higher percentage (many are obvious svc connected) but the have a low percentage - JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LIST EVERY CLAIM BEFORE THEY GOT OUT! It's sad seeing a fellow brother in arms being denied, but it's true!
Good luck & you can PM me if I can help give you more personal advice!
