Will my pregnant wife be able to separate from the Reserves to spend full time at home because of COVID and personal reasons?

AR 635-200, Chapter 8 appears to apply to active duty women. It says this at the start:

"This chapter establishes policy and procedures and provides authority for voluntary separation of enlisted women because of pregnancy. This chapter applies to all Active Army enlisted women and ARNGUS and USAR enlisted women ordered to AD, except for ARNGUS and USAR Soldiers found to be pregnant upon entry on IADT, to whom paragraph 5–11 applies. "

However, for situational awareness for all others on this thread - active duty enlisted women 100% have a choice when finding out we are pregnant of either being separated under this chapter of the AR OR we can stay on active duty. For active duty, we do not have to prove a "hardship" with pregnancy to get out on this chapter. We get a choice unlike the time period we were just automatically forced out upon becoming pregnant.

For Reserves, I'm not sure. Your wife needs to talk to her command but based on other comments it seems she needs to go IRR.

It would probably be easier to transfer to the IRR for a spell. Either way, she will need to speak to Retention and Command.

In the regular Army you can ask to be separated for hardship. I assume it is the same in the Reserves. However, these requests are *very* rarely granted, and the onus is on the service member to demonstrate sufficient hardship. I completely understand you not wanting to discuss your (or her) "personal reasons" on an open forum. But without knowing those it is very hard for us to give you valid advice. And she will DEFINITELY have to share those with her CoC if she wants them to be factored into the decision.
