Will reclassifying as a SSG hurt or help my career? Is it realistic to expect my career to stay on its current path?

I am currently a 92A30 and I am a detailed recruiter. After recruiting, I do not want to go back as a 92A and I am looking to re-class. Has anyone here ever re-classed to a new MOS as a SSG? And if so, did it hurt or help your career? Or did your career stay on the current path it was already on? I am 6 years into my career and I don't want to be stuck in a MOS that I cannot stand. Thanks in advance.

Staff, how come you don't like 92A. So many opportunities as an 92A. Warehouse, G4, SASMO, etc. And numorios jobs on the outside. One of the MOS in the Army.

To be completely honest, from day one in AIT, I didnt care for it. To keep everything completely professional, I'll keep my opinions to myself. But I do appreciate your motivation towards the MOS. I wish that I shared that as well.

I wouldn't be doing it for a bonus. I need a career move more than I do money lol

If you enjoy air conditioning reclass to 25B I.T. and it’s very lucrative in the civ world.

Making 7 should come pretty easily for me as I stand. Not to sound cocky, but I've taken the steps to get me there. My current mos has picked up more than 90% the past few years for SFC. A MOS move would be solely for the job...not money or promotion. I realize how weird that might sound lol
I am currently reclassing as a SSG into 14E. Granted I'm coming back from reserves into active duty. So my MOS is pretty quick for promotions, this last board out of 29 eligible for SFC, 28 got selected.....the 29th guy had some legal issues....so almost a 100% rate. A lot of SSGs coming into 14E at the moment.

Yeah I saw that 14E is currently open to SSG. I wont be able to reclass for another 2 years and the jobs available now, wont be then. I'm just a planner and dont like doing things last minute

Yeah there's no telling what will be available 2 years from now, however it is hard to plan that scenario that far out. There are also some warrant mos's that are open to all feeder mos if you are interested in going that route.
