No your retirement pay is not affected by your number of dependents. Your pension is Average of your final 36 months of base pay x 50% (50% for 20 years, 2.5% for every year after 20). Plus a cost of living increase every year

No. It does affect your VA claims if you are eligible

Retirement pay is a DoD DFAS payment based on your years of service. The VA payment is a disability-based payment from the VA, tax free, independent of your retirement pay.
