The only impact he will have is the impact that Trump allows. He needs to place a shock collar on Trumps neck and zap him every time he goes off the teleprompter.

MAJ (Verify To See) - I see one as a corrupt poltician, IOW the USsual President, On the other hand a see a malignant diva with mental problems with the impulse control and discipline of a 5 year old. We can survive the former, as we have done so many times, I am not sure we can survive the latter.

It's not a bad choice. Few people have even viewed Bannon's credentials or background and instead only see Breitbart by his name.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin I think that the first non-backhanded complement offered. I understand that Breitbart proudly offers their bias as conservative discussion/news and not party related. Do you think Breitbart is a positive influence on the news front?

MAJ Charles Blake - I see Breitbart as another Fox. They make no effort to present the whole truth, only the right-wing fantasy.

Let's see... He was hired to be the Campaign CEO for the "conservative" candidate. He has the background, understands many aspects about the base, and has the PR connections. Regardless of the perceptions about Fox and Breitbart, what the hell does his association with either have to do with anything? This is not an appointment of cabinet member or Supreme Court Justice selection... The man's job is to energize the conservative base to win the election. How is this a bad choice? Let me also add for clarification, I am not a Trump supporter.

But to your point, Trump says that he will hire the best people to work with/for him. Trump has a track record of listening to his people that he places around him. It's very easy to make fun of The Donald, but he is one of only two serious candidates for the presidency. One is unfit for office, the other is a non-politician who wants to improve policies and create job opportunities.
The people in his campaign, I honestly believe, are trying their hardest to keep him from going rouge, and most are finding it harder than they anticipated because of his temperament and total lack of filter. These individuals are not failing him, he is failing them. He's surrounded himself with some top shelf people, but Donald is going to say/do what Donald wants, making those around him look like their efforts are failing. Look at Katrina Pierson, it's almost her entire job to walk back many of Trump's more controversial comments, or expound on his comments where he fails to. I'm willing to bet that she is far busier than she, rightfully, thought she would be. Looking at some of her more recent interviews, she is seemingly close to her wits end. In situations like this changes need to be made, and those put in position to run the campaign are not really given the chance to, because of Trump's temperament. Yes, he surrounds with the best he can afford, but he ultimately has the final word, and he is extremely unqualified to make those decisions. Once he relinquishes some of that control the ship will begin to right itself.
