My problem is not with wealthy being placed in the positions. My problem is what many of the wealthy represent. I do not feel comfortable with Tillerson and his ties to Russia and how Exxon has skin in the game already. I don't trust Sessions past and present ideals in the ability to be the person who will be the top civil rights cop in the land. DeVos I am afraid will take even more money from a school system that needs the funding to place it into schools that have the money.
Rick Perry wanted to eliminate the department of energy who together with Scott prewitt as sec of the EPA will dismantle both agencies only leaving our natural resources vunrable to destruction.
Flynn has the biggest tin foil hat of all in Washington and lost his job over it. He has tie to the Russians and the hacking and can't be trusted along with being mentally unstable.

So to say that I feel confident is a huge no. I am not comfortable with his picks. I was willing to give him a chance but that left me as soon as I saw his choices. He has not only selected poorly he has selected the very people that are against the very agencies that they have been selected to lead. With both the house and senate falling under Republican control and most seem to not believe in science and also fall into the pockets of the big corporations I do not see them not getting comfirmed. I am afraid it will be a bubble that we will see a temporary up lift and then a huge burst.

Devos is frightening I'm sure I dont have to break down to you why a quick google will answer that, but I will leave this. DeVos isn’t an educator, or an education leader. She’s not an expert in pedagogy or curriculum or school governance. In fact, she has no relevant credentials or experience for a job setting standards and guiding dollars for the nation’s public schools.

SSgt Ray Stone - She didn't even know what the individuals with disabilities act was and when told it was a federal law she kept saying it's up to the states. She doesn't even know what it means to be a federal law. The thought of her responsible for education is terrifying.

Did the middle class and poor have a say in the previous cabinet? No. I would rather have a successful businessman or woman in the cabinet than what we have had.

If that successful businessman or woman hasn't become successful by taking credit for the accomplishment of others.

Sgt (Join to see) - Absolutely! Our political system is filled with people who care more about heaping praise upon themselves than working for the people who elected them.

After 20 JAN, the original GW will be overtaken as the richest US president (normalizing the wealth). The cabinets from day one have been stacked with rich folk. So I'd expect they'll "relate" as much or as little as before to "average"; whatever that means. It'll be interesting to see what this Executive Branch's take on our Constitutional Commercial Republic is. BTW that's what we are. We've tend to forget that.

Good point, we should have a net worth cap on presidential candidates. Only let those with limited success run. Perhaps another limit should be on Congressional candidates and when their net worth doubles, on a $172K salary, they can no longer run for reelection.

Probably not any less or more then in the past. They got theirs and now want to keep it.
We may get lip service but results? Time will tell. I am hopeful though.

My concern isn't that they relate to me, it's whether or not they can do what Trump promised. If not, he will be a one term president.

So the question is how effective will people who led companies efficiently enough that they became wealthy? I would hope as effective as they were in the private sector.

If you think the last Presidents Cabinet was poor your on another planet all together....lol Each of those folks was a multi-millionaire if not a lot higher in Net Worth. So nice try at a new litmus test. However I would argue that Mr. Trump has some Generals of less means on his Cabinet than Obama did. As for having Billionaires in government, they are all over the place on the Democratic side in the Senate, House of Representatives, etc. Why is it only an issue if they serve a alleged Republican?

The poor in this country already got a huge reward in the NYSE upswing, they will see more benefits after Trump takes office. So much better to lift the poor out of poverty THAN to add more of the Middle Class to their ranks...........which Obama was doing.

You slander Obama while praising him at the same time.... hilarious. I'm refering to the NYSE comment, you do know the NYSE upswing was due to Obama digging the U.S. out of the financial mess Bush caused right? You guys hate the man so much and dont realize the the good he has done. I don't agree with everything Obama has done, but I am aware of his accomplishments

SSgt Ray Stone - Actually not, in fact the NYSE only recovered to just below or at the point it was prior to the crash of 2008, maybe a little above. After Trump's election it surged well above the level for the first time on hope of real change for the Economy. I might also point out that past NYSE large dips like the one in 1987 were actually resolved by the administration in the White House. The crash in 2008 Obama actually had to bring people into the administration that understood derivatives to partially fix it because he had no clue. The Economy did partially recover under him but took eight full years to do so. Mosts Economists will tell you he could have done it in half that time or less. As far as Bush causing the mess. The laws that allowed the sale of derivatives as well as cheap credit for buying homes for uncreditworthy people were passed by majority vote of Democrats. Nice attempt at revising history but you failed.
