With regards to AIT PLT SGT, are we placed as PLT SGTs in the same location we completed AIT? Or could be be placed in any TRADOC location?

When I was an AIT PSG, I was stationed not in my initial AIT location, but another TRADOC post. Being an Aviation Mechanic on OH-58D (R) I attended AIT at Ft. Eustis, VA. As an AIT PSG, I was assigned to FT Rucker, AL the home of Army Aviation.

Yes, you will go back to where you were trained for your current MOS. You will fill in a spot that is available/needed within the BN/BDE. It may not be the actual MOS that you currently are, however, I am sure that they will try to put you with your peers. Even though it may not be your 100% MOS, it will be within your series. Have yet to see something like a Mechanic going to Field Artillery, or Field Artillery going to Signal. You will be within your Series.

I just finished my AIT Platoon Sergeant time and no you do not always go back where you went to AIT, however you may end up there depending on your MOS.
