I'm sure there are many ideas you all have on what could be done if any to minimize these shootings, share.  The more restrictions we put on base the less it feels like a home and more like a prison.  It's a trend that mental health troubles is causing the majority of these events and it needs to be the primary focus on minimizing them both militarily and in America as a whole.  Should we also look at the tools used to commit these acts as well and take action?  I personally believe we need more focus on the root of the problem and that is people, for if there is a will, there is a way.  If we can focus on our people and help them to never have the will to commit heinous crimes we don't have to further stricken how we live on military installations.

Given the recent active shooter tragedy that happened at Fort Hood, how do you believe the military should best respond to help prevent future events from happening, and also casualties should they happen?
