While I have not made my mind up yet, some of the qualities I am looking for are leadership, honesty, and a plan that he/she communicates which focuses on our country and the challenges we face (internal and external) over the next decade.

Serving as Presidential of the United States impacts the global state and our country for much longer than the four to eight years they are in office. When there are mistakes it could take a decade to recover or could be situations which are irreversible. We have to have the right person in that position, not someone that is narrow minded or selfish in their views. The value of integrity has to be without question and as a fellow RP'er mentioned recently, once elected, the President should be without a party and operate irrespective of party lines. This is a very important decision and one we cannot take lightly, it is too early for me to have my decision made at this point.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig My feelings exactly !! I started to write a reply to this post, and then realized that it would sound like I was plagiarizing from yours. Your answer is on point, and well thought out.

Personally I prefer Bobby Jindal at this point based on his experience as governor of Louisiana PO1 Julio G.. My first choice Scott Walker dropped out of the race.
