With the suicide rate higher than a joint and the VA trying to get their act together, what are your thoughts about this?

It is quite sad to know:
1. 15 Vietnam and 7 current era veterans kill themselves each day.
2. Some of the Vietnam veterans don't want help, don't want any interaction with the
government. The emotional pain and knowing they are on their last leg of life
contributes to suicides.
3. Suicide is their way to deal with the ghosts, pain inside, and finally to find peace.

Thank you, Sir, Active 68-72, CamRahnBay, Vietnam, possible exposure.. Cancer, heart, COPD,.. Yes, Very depressing, VA,-- NO HELP.. Bureaucratic "Red Tape".. probably would have gone over the edge, however, in my civilian job I became a member of a Union, and ALL 14, Military related operations were paid in full by the company I worked for !! No help from the VA.. NOTHING AT ALL !! This may be why I was able to survive.. I RECEIVED THE HELP I NEEDED !! Which, I feel, is how the VA is supposed to HELP our Veterans !! Thank You..

I think it's the enemies curse. But, I'm weird like that.
Just to see the lack of support from home, not even lack of support; but outright disgust for soldiers. No ticker-tape, no parades. Just home to, well not friends for sure.
I just think there has to have been something done on spiritual levels to allow this to happen.

Attitudes toward the wars changed as time went on. A lot approved of the war in Astan, but not in Iraq. Most of us being soldiers before, knew there was no choice on where you were sent to. Civilians that have never served, have no actual clue what the military is like. We do,and a lot of us have our ears open. We know what it is like.
