Im currently in TRADOC HQ, looking for tips on NCO of the Month board prep as well as SAMC board prep. I'm always hearing about those boards helping your promotion chances improve this that true? If someone can send me some tips or show me the right path on what I need to start studying IOT be more competitive for the next SFC board.

@SSG Wilson, when I was competing, Army Study Guide was my best friend. Now, with the ADP and ADRP implementation, I recommend the Army DRP Board Study Guide app on Android. Also, I would try to apply things I learned to my daily life. That helped me remember what color socks I could wear in ACUs, how to properly complete a DA Form 2062, the purposes of the many Army programs, and much more. Applying those board questions to daily life helps make you a better Leader and can make many questions easier to remember. There is a study guide for the SAMC board. If you can't find a SAMC member to advise you, I can ask around for you.

Can anybody explain to me how is SGT Morales (a fictional character) board equivalent to SGT Audie Murphy board? Also, I understand these board help determine competence NCOs, future leaders, but these boards seem crazy because I doubt the board members had achieved or come close to what SGT Audie Murphy did in his life time. It seem unreasonable to be induct in the club when you haven't accomplish or came close to what he did. This is just my opinion.

I will tell you Audie Murphy is bias board. If they don't like your presence from the start it sets the tone for the whole board. Some who are not members sit on the board. From my experience being Audie Murphy wasn't a deal breaker for promotion. If you want to be above your peers go to SHARP, EO, the master fitness trainer course which I am going to on the 29th of Sep battle staff nco. Take those classes no one wants to do and take the hard assignments.
