Working with Civilian Contractors at home and overseas

Are we headed down a slippery slop with the amount contractors being used by the military? How hard will it be to get rid of them? I am in Afghanistan right now and have seen first hand the number of contractors that jump from base to base not really doing anything other than collecting a nice paycheck and not wanting to leave or do any actual work when they are called. I can't tell you how angry it makes me to be told that "no sir we can not fix said problem because it's not on density" Then why the hell are you here!! Go home and stop "stealing" your pay checks! It seems to me like there are far too many contractors overseas and it is VERY hard to get them back to the states. Has the military bit off more than they can chew with this one?
