If someone were in Jordan but close to Syria and using radar into Syria would they qualify for the inherent resolve ribbon?

If you are in Jordan - you don't get the medal. In Syria - yes.

The good news is that serving in Jordan makes you eligible for the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.

Possibly, it’s not just Syria! We got it and we were all over the place!

SFC(P) (Join to see) - Are you NG or RC? Because that is 100% not how the award criteria for campaign medals works.

SSG (Join to see) no I’m not NG or RC I’m AD always have been! Actually that is how it works if you read the criteria for campaign medals! The requirement is quite easy actually and I believe I’ll trust my HR NCOIC who confirms the awards they use to work at HRC for promotions! If you move countries during a deployment and have met the requirements for a campaign medal before doing so you are entitled to said campaign medal, just like if where you move to has a different one and you qualify for that one you can receive that one also! Unless you can show me a regulation that states I can’t receive more than one per deployment that is how our S1 will keep awarding them I’m sure?!

SFC(P) (Join to see) - It clearly states under every campaign medal " Under no condition will personnel or units receive more than one campaign or expeditionary medal for the same action, time period, or service. "

If this were the case, everyone would get a GWOTEM for their stop in Kuwait before pushing out to their AO.

SFC(P) (Join to see) - The dates of your deployment don't even line up with the eligible dates for the ICM. The OIR medal replaced the ICM. It is not a both type deal, it's a one or the other.

To my knowledge you must be in Syria. I’m currently in the ESSA. That’s what we’re being told for any awards.

[Soldiers qualify for the medal if they were permanently assigned, attached or detailed to a unit operating in the AOE for 30 consecutive days, or 60 non-consecutive days, and who meet one of the following criteria, regardless of time spent in the AOE:

• Was engaged in combat during an armed engagement in the AOE.
• Was wounded, injured or killed, and medically evacuated from the AOE, while engaged in an operation or on official duties. ~381171:SFC Donald Collins]

So if im correct, which I may not be. But we had people in the AOE in our platoon, we just happened to be the part of a small group within jordan with a mission focused within the country mentioned above. So by that we would be eligible correct? Also this mission is already over and are just currently in the award process so this info does not violate OPSEC, or endanger any troops.
