Would the removal of the NFA tax stamp change your mind about getting a supressor/silencer?

The topic says it all. I would love to get a variety of supressors, but with the restrictions of transporting across state lines, keeping the paperwork on me at all times when out in public, not able to leave with family members when I deploy, the 3-12 month wait for the BATFE to approve or deny, PLUS the $200 tax stamp PER ITEM is excessively ridiculous. I think the removal from the NFA list would be a wonderful thing.

Would it change my mind about getting one? No, it would simply make it cheaper.

I'm all for it. The people committing crimes with guns aren't buying them retail anyway, and adding 7" to the end of a gun actually makes it LESS concealable.

So I'm already a strong supporter of suppressors and where I currently work I sell a great deal of them. A few misconceptions with your statement though. You only have to have the paperwork with you if you have the suppressor with you. You can get a firearms trust where you can have multiple people as beneficiaries on your trust and that way you can leave them with it. Right now wait times are around 3-5 months. As for removing them...PLEASE DO!! I hate all the stupid taxes and hoops but I'm just glad that we still can at least own them!

Every little bit of knowledge helps. And yeah, if I own one, it's going everywhere with me. =) I can live with the tax stamp even but yeah, get rid of the excess paperwork.
