I would pay $ 10 or more if the monies were applied to a Veteran organization or cause.

I would pay more just to contribute to the Veteran Orgs. There are too many vets on the street and just not being taken care of. If that means I have to chip in more money I would. What good is a VA program if vets can't afford a bus ride to get to a VA place for treatment. As I am coming up on retirement myself and the closer I get, the more I realize, we have to do better at taking care of each other. Because, we really only become an issue around election time. I know for the last 18 years I have had 50 cents coming out a month going to the Armed Forces Retirement Home. If you add that up over the years and multiply it by every service member that has paid that 50 cents, where is that money going? Do we need to up the amount?

Massachusetts charges no fee for Veteran on your license, but if you want Veteran Plates they do charge a special plate fee, which goes to the state run Soldier's Homes.

To say that we (Veterans) should get stuff for free, is telling the world that we are entitled. I feel no sense of self-entitlement just because I "chose" to serve. If a company offers military discounts, then I will gladly accept said discounts. It shows two things on the company's part: 1. They support the military, 2. They understand we don't make tons of money by serving in the military. If the DMV is offering us the opportunity to have that sticker on our license, then I would support it gladly by paying $10.00.

Good points I think it is only for discounts as a way to recognize service.

Thank you, Sir; it would appear that the State of Massachusetts is appreciative of her military Veterans.. More states should follow the example that they have set !!

No charge for the 'veteran' addition to a license in Vermont either. However, if the $ went to a vets home or other related service, I'd have no objection to the additional fee.
