I'm working on an article and would love some feedback. Your vote would help me out. I was just thinking in regards to how many of us really think about end-of-life plans. Has anyone ever thought about it? It's not the breakfast conversation of the day lol. So yeah, I'm interested to see what the results will be.

My father passed away a couple of days ago and was an Army vet from the early 60's. He did not see combat but never really spoke about his time in.

My brother who was active Coast Guard and just retired from the CG Reserves was against any Veteran's protocol. At this point he wants nothing when he dies either. Another brother who did an active tour in the Navy and myself, Marines, both want full military honors.

Dad is being cremated so we ended up agreeing with a flag for his coffin and a marker. No need for condolences but how do you feel? The only thing he told mom was he wanted to be cremated.

I don't want any kind of funeral! I just want to keep living.
In seriousness, I want whatever is cheapest. Put me out with the trash for all I care. Do not waster money on me.

Yes and no. I would like to be buried with my wife. If that can be accomplished in a National Cemetery among other veterans, so much the better. I would like to have taps played at my funeral, but that's about all. Taps has always moved me.
