Thanks to many great member suggestions and requests, RallyPoint is putting on our first ever RallyPoint Conference: RPx 2014!
RPx 2014 will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina on SATURDAY, August 16th. It will be an incredibly fun and engaging event with great speakers, a new product announcement, networking events, and an Awards Show with dinner. The Awards Show will be hosted by SSG Robert Burns, and the Master of Ceremonies throughout the day will be SSG Kevin McCulley, both long time RallyPoint members.
Please use this discussion thread to ask questions, suggest additional events, and recommend specific award categories for our Award Show (dinner is included). The award categories and nomination process will be announced in the coming weeks.
There is a discount for Blue Ribbon members, E-1 through E-5, and full time students. Tickets and more information are available here:

Update: my +1, A.K.A. Debbie, will be accompanying me to RPx. Now to search for some "cheap" round trip airfare from Houston to Raleigh. Are there any RP members who are travel agents?

CPT Dave Shephard I'm sure you are in the process of approaching the city council on renaming the convention center "RaleighPoint" for this weekend...right?

Hey all, I wanted to point out that Raleigh has a free bus service that moves throughout a pretty good portion of Downtown Raleigh and its surrounding areas. This is handy because it really widens the selection of available (and probably cheaper) hotels for you to stay at and still have a free/sober ride back to the hotel. See the link below for more info...

Just bought my tickets.
Now I am stretching my legs because in true Marine Corps fashion I will be humping in from Cincinnati with a good 60lb pack...uphill, both ways, rather than flying.

I decided to fly today when I found a cheap fare. I really don't mind giving a ride in this context - especially if it made the difference between going or not going for someone. I hardly imagine that someone would publicly announce on a social media site that he/she was going to ride down with me and then do me harm.
Or maybe you meant about the radio selections. No worries. I'm pretty flexible and these days just about everyone has personal devices with headphones.

That is a good idea. You can't really trust many people these days. For all I know you might be a cereal killer. I really like cereal.

CPT (Join to see) - Are you staying at the Marriott hotel as well? The reason I'm asking is because the car service that has a deal with the hotel charges $42 to get from the airport to the hotel and that fee covers 3 people. I'm getting in around 2000hrs and am open to 2 other people joining in on this ride.

Thanks, I have buddies at Bragg so I am flying into Fayetteville and renting a car so I can get a two-for on the trip.

Bought my tickets for myself and the (soon to be) Wife today. This should be a fun event!

When I purchased them, there was no option for "Spouse/date/etc" even though it stated I could buy those tickets as the same as mine. So she had to be listed as Service Member.
Any ideas?

Good catch. We've updated the options to support spouse/date.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

She'll be fine! Many of those signing up so far have actually been buying two tickets.

This definitely sounds like it would be quite an interesting event. Definitely going to look into the possibilities. I also LOVE the fact it is on a Saturday. There are so many times I can't attend an event because they are during the week.

Made it to the hotel, freshened up and now enjoying a good beer at the bar before the start #RPx2014.

I shall be there... I'm really looking forward to being able to network and learn. I've got pretty high expectations for this event.

I will be attending my final phase of SLC at Fort Eustis, VA during this time frame. Not sure if we have weekends off or not but If I have the opportunity, and its possible for me to attend I will get tickets.
