Looking to get some good conversation rolling about the results of the 2015 NFL Draft, and am always open to debates. Some quick thoughts I had on the draft:
1. The New York Jets had an expensive yet exceptional offseason. The acquisitions of Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine help solidify that secondary. Let's not forget the signing of star WR Brandon Marshall. If he's back at 100%, that's a solid target for whoever is under center. The draft brought a steal at #6 overall, Leonard Williams to the Jets. His versatility will help make that D-line top-5 in the NFL alongside Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson. Picking up Devin Smith and Bryce Petty in the next two rounds gives the Jets quite a future. Petty just might start by the end of the season for all we know.
2. The St. Louis Rams might have raised a few eyebrows following their picks, but I think they're holding true to who they are; a power-running offense. Todd Gurley in the first round is a great compliment to Tre Mason and either can be an every-down back. Their defense is already fairly solid, but drafting 4 O-linemen that are primarily great at run-blocking is a great step in the direction Jeff Fisher wants to take his team. QB Sean Mannion, who they drafted in the third round, is able to work with a power-run offense and use play-action passes to his advantage if need be (when he plays of course). Will Nick Foles return to his 27 TD/2 INT-level of playing?
3. What can we expect from the San Diego Chargers this year? The drafting of Melvin Gordon certainly improves their running game, but with 5 total picks in the draft they haven't added much depth. Will they be able to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs, who drafted mainly for need? Will they be able to take a victory against the Denver Broncos this year? This may be Peyton Manning's last rodeo, but we'll have to see whether the 39-year old will be able to stay healthy.

I was concerned with the picks of the Cowboys. I think the Cowboys had a good draft. In my opinion, the defense needs work. Dallas picked up defense players and two offensive players, a blocking TE and a tackle. both will help strengthen Dallas running cababilities. smart move when you have an injury prone RB. Im pleased with my team's draft.

I thought they did a great job. Byron Jones and Randy Gregory can make immediate impacts for them on defense. I was personally impressed with this draft; Stephen Jones is proving to be a capable GM in his father's place.

I am a Vikings fan and what we did, not trading any pick or trying to get back into the first round, to me was a huge plus. We stuck to a game plan and drafted needs and filled voids. Trae Waynes will be star in the years to come and opposite Rhodes, that should be a sound corners for years to comes. And drafting ERIC KENDRICKS in the second round and T.J. Clemmings in the fourth round, who was projected by many a late 1st round despite a few injury concerns, was the steal of the draft I think. So over all we had an excellent draft and I am looking forward to this up coming season.

Vikings filled key needs. Defensively, the Kendricks-Barr duo should stuff the run just fine. Waynes and Rhodes are definitely not a CB tandem to sleep on, and should do well as the season progresses. Clemmings definitely was a steal, let's hope he's able to make an impact immediately. Also gotta hope Matt Kalil has a better year.

I agree, the Jets should be a little better. But with a new HC, it may take a year or two to develop. Revis and Cromartie should be keys on D mentoring upcoming players. Marshall I think is overrated and with the Jets QB situation we shall see.

1. I think you are too high on the Jets offseason acquisitions. It is my belief that Revis is the only good pick-up in there, as the others are past prime. Marshall might prove me wrong, but not with the QB play there. I don't know if there was a worse situation for Bryce Petty to go to. He was a system QB in college, and now he is going to a place where there is not an established #1 that he could have learned from for a couple years. Put him in Dallas, Denver, New England, and I think he is a much better QB in 4 years.
2. I think the Rams are definitely postured for success, I loved their draft, it is not just for this year it is for the next 4-5 years. I again this Mannion needs time behind Foles this year at least to learn .
3. San Diego was very perplexing, I don't think the Bolts have enough in the stable to hang with the Broncos or the Chiefs.

The Jets did get Leonard Williams and Devin Smith, two players who can make impacts immediately. While their QB situation is still a question mark, they have a pretty solid offense. A slew of RBs (Ivory, Powell, and the newly acquired Ridley and Stacy), Marshall, Smith and Decker for receivers.. it's one of the better teams on paper in the AFC to be honest. Kinda like the Bills.
Mannion won't be a starter this year but that Rams team will surprise a lot of people. Wouldn't raise an eyebrow at 10-6/11-5 for them honestly. Solid O-line now with two great options at RB, along with some good young receivers. Love their defense too.
SD is always a little inconsistent but I think Gordon gives them a big step in the right direction. Keenan Allen needs to have a better junior year in the NFL for this team to contend. They also need help in the secondary.
