I have when they did a Color Guard for and event I had. Also, I gave a coin to a JROTC Instructor, and she was so emotional about it - she had not been coined in a long time. She was not expecting it, but she had over 60 High School students help with decorating the Cemetery for Memorial Day - on a Saturday. Then she got special permission from the HS Principal to excuse the students do the entire cleanup the day after Memorial Day (0600-1200). Wow it was amazing!

I think that is a great gesture and a motivational tool. These JROTC Cadets may be future leaders and this is a great way to inspire and motivate, especially if they understand the significance of being coined. I've coined a lot of people over the years with my unit or organization's coins and told them what it means if they did not know. I love positive reinforcement and a simple gesture like giving your coin to someone goes a long way. Thanks for the post MSgt (Join to see)
