These are some of the Marines who are famous, Lets find more of every branch?

I challenge all branches to find their famous people as well? Add them see which one has the most famous people. My pick is a hard one due to the fact you have so many that are actors. Growing up it was Cpt. Kangaroo, at one time Gene Hackman, Then Harvey Keitel. I have three more but they are not listed here. I will wait till they pop up. One hint is "Get Smart", "Cat Ballou" and last is, "Full Metal Jacket"

EddieAlbert (Green Acres) was at Tarawa. He was awarded the Bronze Star for rescuing American soldiers during the Battle of Tarawa while under heavy gunfire in 1943. He also lost a portion of his hearing from the noise of the battle. Good luck finding any of our 'celebrities' these days doing anything other than promoting themselves for more money.

And yet he's best remembered for "Green Acres" and hanging out with an incredibly smart co-star in Arnold the pig. Amazing.

Jimmy Stewart was already famous for acting, still enlisted & from the sounds of it was a pretty bad ass soldier.

Eddie Albert, at Tarawa he did not rescue soldiers. It was a Marine Corp operation . He rescued Marines. Colonel David Shoup USMC received the Medal of Honor for his actions. I don't like it when Marines are called Soldiers. I was in the Marine Corp. and the Army. Their is a big difference. If you don't believe me go to Marine Corp Boot Camp then go to Army Basic training, then maybe you will know the difference. Semper Fi.
