So recently (MAR2017), there has been a change with prior service getting back in. If you've been out for more than three years, you're sent to an augmented basic training. To my understanding from friends that I have in the recruiting command, it's a six week course. As far as I know, there's no getting around it.

Unless the rules have changed recently, Army prior service with more than a three year break in service are required to do a four week long Warrior Transition Course. Then you should be good unless you change MOS's, which would require a new AIT.

What exactly is your question? It sounds like a complaint, not a question.

Sir, I didn't know I could post a response to the question so I tried to cram everything in. I was wondering if there are any other options out there other than full basic? I know how the recruiting can work from my first time around and it just seemed off. Thank You.

SPC (Join to see) - Okay. I'll adjust the question for you. When you post a question, you should see an area where you can provide additional "Details". Post the main question in the title, and then provide further clarification in the "Details" section. That way you won't have to cram everything into the title. You should also be able to go back and revise the Details for this question.
