I hope to attend flight school in Fort Rucker after I commission next year in May. From what I understand, both Army Aviation and Medical Services send officers to flight school. I just received my branch fit feedback yesterday, and Aviation "preferred" me while Medical Services "most preferred" me. My PMS explained that since I was "most preferred" by Medical Services, I am almost guaranteed a spot in MS when I commission should I choose to put MS as my number 1 choice. Can anyone with experience as a 67J let me know how easy or difficult it is become a pilot in Med Services? Also, can someone give me a few pros and cons of flying for Aviation vs. flying for Med Services?

If you branch medical services, you will require a conditional release from the branch and be accepted into the Aviation Corp. I can tell you from the experience i have had with medical officers who were split between medical and aviation, once you branch med, they are never going to release you. From my understanding, the army is trying to do away with the officer 67J MOS and just combine everything into the 61N MOS and completely transitioning Aeromed pilots to the aviation corp.

I'm a MSII right now in ROTC, were you able to do 67J in Medical Service Corps?
