GEN Stanley McChrystal

Welcome and I am sure all...well most...are looking forward reading your thoughts on these questions

My question to you is what new rules of engagement would you recommend for fighting the leviathan that is Washington and specifically your thoughts on the current Administration actions, or lack there of, against radical Islamic fundamentalism?

GEN Stanley McChrystal Sir with all the issues still in Iraq and Afghanistan and the increase of ISIS threats here in the United States how do you see the major draw down of troops effecting the militarys ability to fight and sustain in all these areas?

Sir, when is accountability going to be taken seriously? A LTC declares his wife deceased, marries his mistress and awards her family millions of taxpayer dollars fraudulently, yet he keeps his benefits.

The Army decides on UCP, then several years later admits wrongdoing by seeking a new camouflage pattern. When will we see those who decided on UCP held accountable for the waste of time, dollars and lives lost because of it?

When is the Army going to stop putting Band-Aids on the issue of toxic leadership and start looking at the system that promoted those leaders in the first place?

When is the Army going to get serious about accountability Sir?

Thank you for joining us sir. Do you have a position on the Air Force's decision to retire the A-10 in favor of the F-35 for Close Air Support missions?

I say HOOAH Sir! We thank you for the opportunity to ask questions to one of our great military leaders. Sir, if you are familiar with the TERA, (15-year retirement) why doesn't the military offer the opportunity to retire to those of us who have 15 to 17 years of Active Duty service but are being retained? As it stands now, only the non-retainable are being offered the early retirement.

congrats to you and CSM Hall on your selection to the Ranger hall of fame. Mike has been talking up your book on Facebook so you may have to give him a cut. My question is with the scaling down of the wars what can senior leaders and the senior military leadership in the pentagon do to maintain the warrior ethos in our Soldiers. We saw the military loose some of its' combat edge during the draw down in the 90's and I think it is crucial that we don't have that happen again. Thank you.

Sir,

How or can the US truly win while fighting a limited war. After the introduction of nuclear weapons, there has not truly been a total war, and our greatest assets as a nation are our people, economy, military, and industrial base. We no longer bring all of those assets to bear on anything even beginning to approach our full capacity. I have no doubt we can win if we fully mobilized as a nation but I have doubts otherwise. This does not mean as an Army we cannot or should not conduct the missions our nation gives us, but a realization in what our true ends are or should be, based on the means we are willing to use and the way we do so.

Sir,

My question leans towards social media and the younger generation of our fighting force. Media, in general, can be a good and bad thing at the same time. It can of course help with propaganda and get some of the opposition to join our side. It can also have a negative effect on missions, from convoys to patrols. With new recruits being allowed to have cell phones in basic training and several more privileges in their AIT, it seems we are pushing them towards using social media more. During your career, have you seen a negative correlation between the use of social media and our military? With that, do you feel that as we are giving the younger Soldiers more privileges, they are having more of a "I am entitled to that" type of mentality?

Sir, please take a look at a previously posted question for the Rally Point Community. Considering the many comments, what are your thoughts on this discussions?

Sir thank you for taking the time to answer some questions for us. My question is, do you think the recent scandals revolving around the VA has hurt retention and recruiting for the Profession of Arms?
