Mike founded Team RWB in 2010 while still serving in the Army, and still serves on its board of directors. After graduating from West Point in 2002 he served on Active Duty for 13 years. Erwin's military career includes three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He still serves today in the US Army Reserve.

Since Team RWB, LTC Erwin has shifted focus to The Positivity project (https://posproject.org/) which helps empower students to build strong relationships. He’s joining us today to discuss his mission with The Positivity Project, his military experience, his book “Lead Yourself First: Inspiring Leadership Through Solitude”, and more.

Good afternoon,
I looked at your website Team red, white and blue. It appears, Team RWB is all over the US. That is very impressive. Well done on doing someithing great for veterans.
I do not have any questions as your website has a lot of answers. But, if my company can help you help veterans in my area as a Medicare and TRICARE In-Network provider (ultrasound only), it would be an honor to do so.

What are Team RWB doing to partner with VSOs - such as lical VFWs?

Great question.....we empower our local chapters to make those decisions based upon the needs of the chapter, but certainly encourage them to collaborate with the American Legions, VFWs, etc....and we have seen great impact in places like Denver and Queens. And hope to see more of it in other locations across America!

Fired up! I was stationed at Camp Brown at Kandahar Airfield in 2006-07 and 2009. Were you there then by chance? Great question, Dave! While I was stationed at West Point in 2011-2014, I had the honor to serve as a aide-de-camp to Jim Collins while he served as the Class of 1951 Chair for the Study of Leadership. Not only did he become a great mentor and friend, but he also helped to shape the direction the book, Lead Yourself First, took by suggesting we look at great leaders who practiced solitude.
