First of all I believe Col Michael Grubbs is absolutely right. In addition to that the average CEO salary is nearly $750,000 a year. None of our officers/ executives in the military makes anywhere remotely close to that. Even a General with 40 years of service caps out about $225,000. Add in $100, 000 of benefits/ privileges in and still isn't comparative.
Serving in the military is about more than money, and i strongly support service. Let's not fool ourselves into believing the military is overpaid.

Problem when comparing is.... And I get it, it's not fair (but what is), is that the military doesn't produce value in an economy. It does not create wealth in the same manner, it does not create jobs based on value -- I guess, strictly financially speaking, you could look at it more as a "marketing department"... necessary, but a cost center...
Now before people flip out and go off the handle on how we save the world and what not, we're talking strictly money, and value production - The cost is straight from the tax payer. And to equate costs to average CEO costs... Without looking at the math - that would be VERY VERY VERY VERY expensive.
