*Senator Cruz will be joining us for a live Q&A on Friday, 2/26 at 1:00pm EST. Post your questions below in advance of the Q&A. Questions with the most up votes will be answered first. Please be upfront and to the point with your questions. RP Staff will be monitoring this discussion.*
From Senator Ted Cruz:
America now faces a momentous decision. Almost a decade of irresponsible defense cuts has slashed the number of combat personnel, seriously degraded their combat readiness, and shrunk the size of our military below any reasonable standard. If America continues to lead from behind, we will lose the ability to guarantee our safety at home and abroad.
Our all-volunteer force deserves better. They deserve a leader who will provide them with the finest weapons systems and the best training. They deserve the full and unapologetic support of their Commander-in-Chief, not a minimal commitment and overly restrictive Rules of Engagement.
Furthermore, Americans make up the finest military professionals and veterans in the world, and they deserve an investment in their careers, their health, and their families. We must honor of our military members, families, and veterans by ensuring they receive the respect and care they have earned.
Under focused, new leadership, America can, and will, rebuild our military and take care of our veterans.

What is your plan to fix the issues the veterans are having with the VA as far as getting the medical attention they need?

I'm sure that as Commander-in-Chief, he would represent fine, but that doesn't mean full agreement with everyone on all issues.

Does he plan to have a LGBT Representative???

Beyond all policy matters, what matters to me most is one's patriotism for this country. Having said that, I'm curious as to why you kept your Canadian citizenship up until you decided to run for POTUS? Why should we vote for someone who isn't wholly a U.S. citizen?

Senator, thank you for your participation here.
Will you, or do you, support a Convention of States to propose amendments to the Constitution? If so, can you suggest some specific amendments you would like to see? If not, please share why.

Why have you sat in your hands in regard to Nationsl Security allowing the border security to wither to a non-existent idea? What is your immediate plan to stop Civil Asset Forfeiture police forces have been using to steal valuable things like high end electronics, exoensive cars, and cash savings of oeople not involved in criminal activity, never charged with a crime? Why after the midterm elections has the GOP lied about repealing Obamacare. We were asked to elect them on that premise. The voters kept our part of the bargain. The GOP has not. When will every company that hires illegals be targeted for using them? When will all of the illegals be forced to do the right thing and leave this great nation under your administration?

Senator, It's hard to ignore some things that our own Government puts out. State Department Publication No.7277, PL87-297 Arms Control and Disarmament Act published in the 60's openly pronounces the good and global benefit of and how to go about the dismantling of a Military and the importance of reducing the size of that country's Military to under two million personnel. As a Vet and a Citizen I find this to be especially alarming since we are now well below that number militarily, as well as all the attacks on our 2nd Amendment, and our POTUS efforts to sign on with UN gun control laws. My question Senator is, are you award of the full content of State Department Publication No.7277, the UN's role as put forth in this publication and the potential breach of our Country's Constitution, Sovereignty and Security this publication may warrant? More importantly, how will you address ANY attempt to surrender our Sovereignty, Security, Constitution or Military to any other power on this planet?

Mr. Cruz,
What will you do to help w/ the VA fiasco? Is there any way to save it, & turn it in the right direction. In the direction of helping vets, instead of the way it has been the past few years.

Senator Ted Cruz - women are the one of the fastest growing subpopulations of US veterans. By 2020, we will comprise over 10% of the total veteran population, and over 60% are older than 45. This leads me to ask...what kind of initiatives, if any, will you consider to meet the needs of this demographic?

Salute to Generations of Service - Center for Women Veterans (CWV)
Women have proudly served and taken part in every major conflict since the American Revolution. Please join us as we review the past through the present and salute the service of women Veterans down through the years. In September 2015, VA’s Center for Women Veterans and the VA Women’s Health Group launched a new campaign “I’m One: I’m a Veteran.” The “I’m One” campaign focuses on developing identity and respect for women Veterans. Honestly... I think the VA will ignore women's needs just like their male counterparts.
