CPT Kletzing- Please let us know if you or a friend could benefit from seeing a counselor or outreach specialist at their nearest Vet Center. He/she may not think they need it now, but it's always good to learn more before they find themselves in need. We also work hard to build Vet Center communities of other Veterans and service members in the area. Thanks for learning more!

SN Warner-Martin, thank you for your interest in Vet Centers. For an appointment, you may call the nearest Vet Center directly or use the Vet Center Call Center 24/7 at 1-877-WAR-VETS (837-9387) to find the Vet Center location nearest to you.

Walk-ins are welcome as I did ... you will be welcome. Water and coffee are available to settle your nerves. Please have your DD 214. It helps processing you through the system.

Good luck Battle!

I love my local Vet Center. My group session is made of of mostly Vietnam Vets, so our counselor is having us get together for group via call-in rather than video. For our group it works. We are excited, though, this Thursday we get to meet (outside at a community park, socially distancing, of course) for the first time since March!

SGT Empson- So happy to hear! We hope your physically distanced group went well! We are really proud of the Vet Center communities created with other Veterans and service members. Do you mind if we ask what Vet Center? We like to recognize our teams whenever possible!

Exactly what and how much can you blame on Covid?
Do you not think these problems exsisted prior to Covid?
Please be original in your response, or at the very least, be honest. I know thats alot to ask from the venerated Veterans Administration. We beg you as a group to at the very least to try.
Thank you

SN Robinson- we truly believe we have a phenomenal team of counselors and other Vet Center staff who will advocate for you and support you in accomplishing your personal goals. More than 70 percent of our staff are Veterans and those who are not, have devoted a career to serving them! Can we help connect you to your local Vet Center?

My lease is up in 2 months, I have been prevented from making any extra money due to Covid and extreme health issues. (Service Connected).
Are there any help available to me? I do not want to become homeless again after fighting so long to change my life and circumstances. [login to see]
Thank you

SPC Hall, the CARES Act has funding specifically meant for the VA to provide support for Veterans who are at risk of becoming homeless. Please call the Veterans Benefit Administration or your local Veterans Service Office to find out how to apply for support. Additionally, you may be eligible for Vet Center services to assist you in counseling services that could find necessary support systems for you to stay "on the right path." Let us know if you're interested in learning more.

I’m an active participant: therapy started at Ft. Worth, TX during early part of 2017 then moved to Amarillo, TX latter part of 2017. I’m a Vietnam Vet (1968-1969) but did not get involved with the VA until 2013: knee replacement and prostate cancer (agent orange).

Due to the additional stress, VA incidents, and flash backs, I was direct to Mental Health which lead me to the VET CENTER.

Due to their assistance, I was able to prepare and submit VA Benefit’s applications.

Not aware housing and employment assistance also provided. Thanks for the heads up! Hooah
