Can you check with your state's Veterans office to see if they have education programs for Veterans. Thank you for your question and thank you for your Service.

I paid into the old GI Bill program ($100/mo for 12 months) but never used any of my benefits (I used Tuition Assistance to finish school). I then converted to the Post 9/11 and transferred my GI Bill benefit to my son and thought I was going to get a refund on what I paid. Unfortunately, I was told that since I didn't use any of my old GI Bill, I wasn't entitled to a refund. If I had used some of my benefits, then I was entitled to a refund. This does not sound right to me. Have the rules changed to catch up with this mistake? Thanks.

May I earn a 2nd Master's degree using my Post 9/11 GI Bill? I still have 18 months of benefits available until 2025. Thank you.

LTC Tony Davis
Lisa, I used Post 9/11 to earn my second masters degree at NYU. Just graduated this past fall semester. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for this question. Yes, if you have remaining entitlement, your school/program is VA approved, and you pursue your 2nd degree prior to your delimiting date (last date in which you can use benefits). Wishing you all the best in your educational goals.

I separated from the Army National Guard in 92’. I’ve never used any benefits. Is there something that would help go back to school?

You might have been eligible for MGIB-SR while in the Guard along with NG tuition assistance - but those programs are not available after you separate from the guard. If you deployed or were mobilized , you could be eligible for Post 9/11 GI Bill - need to apply at http://www.va.gov to find out.

I was originally enrolled for in-person classes for the Fall 2020 semester, and all of my classes have now been converted to online (out of my control) format due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns. Will this affect my BAH?

Please see comment thread from https://www.rallypoint.com/profiles/1762213-sra-suzanne-yancey. It looks like online classes (doesn't matter if it's within or out of your control) has an impact on BAH.

Based on legislation passed by Congress, Post-9/11 GI Bill students who were taking resident courses but had them converted to online courses because of COVID-19, will continue to receive the Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) rate for resident courses until December 21, 2020.

I'm pursuing a comp sci degree and I've exhausted my post 9/11 benefits, but I was approved for the Edith Nourse Rogers STEM scholarship. My question is, am still eligible for the VETTEC program as well? I know you're supposed to have at least one remaining day of Post 9/11 benefit left, but I'm curious as to whether the STEM scholarship would count since the VA page states "The Rogers STEM Scholarship will provide up to nine months of additional Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits". Anyone have any info on this?

I used only two months of my educational benefits in 1974 and would now like to go back to school. Can I use those funds or is to late for that.
