I would like to see if my Montgomery gi Bill is still available to use and also if I am able to use or give my benefit to my daughter who I didn’t have as a dependent while in the service. Where can I look up this information. Thank you

MGIB is only good for 10 years after the last day on active duty. If you served on/after 10 Sept 2001, you might have eligibility to the Post 9/11 GI Bill but as a Veteran you can not transfer your GI Bill to anyone else. If you are rated 100% P&T by VA, your daughter might be eligible for DEA Chapter 35.

My school told me I may be able to get some kind of “forever G.I. Bill” adjuster to my previously expired benefits. Is this a possibility? If so, what is this called and how do I apply? I went to the website and it’s pretty confusing what you should pick unless you have someone who works in that department at the actual VA sitting in the chair next to you.

The Forever GI Bill (Colmery Act) is just the name for an Amendment to the Post 9/11 GI Bill - it is not a separate different GI Bill - and it just means that if you separated from active duty on/after 1 January 2013, your GI Bill never expires.

MSG Alan Purdie ok that explains it. Thank you. And there is no assistance if you separated before that and your GI Bill is expired?

The only other possible program is Voc Rehab if you have a VA disability rating https://www.va.gov/opa/publications/benefits_book/benefits_chap03.asp

I have split my post 9/11 go bill to my kids. My daughter has used it and has 5 months and 11 days left. Question is if she has a month of benefits that carries over to the next semester, will the gi bill pay for the whole semester or will it be prorated for that left over month

VA, by law, has to prorate the payment based on the # of days of benefits she has remaining to use. Her Monthly Housing Allowance will also stop on the last day of benefits she has.

I was taking a masters in nursing informatics. But unfortunately it was not catalog by the VA. How does cataloging a program works and what takes it so long?

Schools have to request approval by the State Approving Agency. This can take a few months.

I am a prior service Army National Guardsman with a single enlistment of 6 years, ending in 2001.

Do I have access to any continuing education/training benefits?

Only if you have 90 days of active duty after 10 September 2001. Otherwise your guard benefits expire when you completed the contract.
