Good afternoon, Mr. Pease. We do have several VA Medical Foster Homes in Missouri. we are quite proud of this innovative program, designed to give Veterans a choice to remain in their local communities as an alternative to nursing home placement. We currently have homes located in Kansas City, Branson, Joplin, Springfield and St. Louis, MO.

When I was TDRL and a Chapter 31 Voc Rehab student, my college wanted to know I was healthy enough to enter my profession. When the TDRL board saw evidence that I was "healthy," I lost my DoD benefits. It scared me into staying away from the hospital until I finished my degree. Now, 15 years has gone by and I'm trying to reenter the VA system. I can't get claims approved because there is lack of health treatment records. I feel lost. What advice can you give?

I'm a retired MSgt USAF combat veteran drawing my retirement pay since 1979 I'm also 100% disabled drawing that disability. My wife and I have been married for 43 years and was with me during some of my time in active duty. If I were to proceed her in death, I understand that she could get some of my disability pay (maybe half) if this is true, how or what must she do to obtain that after my death ????

Dear MSgt Sitzenstock, Thank you for your question and your service to our country. The Department of Veterans Affairs offers a number of benefits to eligible surviving spouses and children. For example, Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) is a tax-free monetary benefit paid to eligible survivors of service members and veterans whose death resulted from a service related injury or illness. The Survivor Pension is a tax-free monetary benefit payable to a low-income, un-remarried spouse and.or unmarried dependent child of a deceased veteran with wartime service. TAPS Casework provides support in navigating survivor benefits, as well as partnerships with organizations like the Department of Veterans Affairs. Should anyone grieving a military death have questions, please encourage them to contact TAPS 24/7 at 800.959.TAPS (8277) or e-mail [login to see] . We are here to help. Sending you hope and gratitude, Bonnie Carroll

Good afternoon, and thank you for your question! If you were to pass before her, she will not be granted half of your current VA benefit. Instead, VA has several benefits for surviving spouses that she could qualify for. We are happy to go into further details if you would like to reach out to OSA at [login to see]

Does the VA health care system plan on making Covid 19 and antibody testing available to veterans upon request.

Why is it so difficult to move from Houston VA to Dallas VA. I am an hours drive to the Dallas VA. I need an appointment with a VA Dental clinic that is closer by. I am a former POW. Thanks for your help

To any VA rep willing to endure an answer to this simple yet complicated problem. I joined the army at the beginning of medpros digitalization of all medical, it was there at the beginning. I thought with the collective digital source that when I get out any claims would be easy, right? It turns out that while deployed literally none of the records taken while overseas ever made it to my medpros or even analog records stored at my duty station, my only duty station that I ever had. This was a problem as I spent 27 months in IRAQ, almost half my enlistment, and I have absolutely no medical records from it. I understand sworn statements but I found it that my problem is quite common in the army. My question is, how could this extremely common problem be addressed?
