Mental Health and Suicide Prevention-
VA's public health strategy to suicide prevention combines partnerships with communities to implement tailored, local prevention plans, while also focusing on evidence based clinical strategies for intervention. Our approach focuses on what we can do now, in the short term, as well as what we can do in the long term, to implement VA’s National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide. Many Veterans may not engage with VHA, so it is necessary to collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to provide Veterans with resources, evidenced-based therapies, and the tools they need to reach them where they live, work, and thrive. The Board of Veterans’ Appeals (Board) is an agency within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Its mission is to conduct hearings and issue timely decisions for Veterans and other appellants in compliance with the law, 38 United States Code (U.S.C.) § 7101(a). The Board is responsible for making final decisions on behalf of the Secretary regarding appeals for Veterans’ benefits and services from all three administrations - Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and National Cemetery Administration (NCA)—as well as the Office of General Counsel (OGC)that are presented to the Board for appellate review. The Board’s jurisdiction extends to all questions in a matter involving a decision by the Secretary under the law that affects a provision of benefits by the Secretary to Veterans, their dependents, or their survivors. 38 U.S.C. §§ 511(a); 7104(a). Final decisions on appeals are made by the Board based on the entire record in the proceeding and all applicable provisions of law and regulation. 38 U.S.C. § 7104(a).
Compensation Service-
Oversees the delivery of disability compensation, a tax-free monetary benefit paid to Veterans with disabilities that are the result of a disease or injury incurred or aggravated during active military service.
Veteran Readiness and Employment-
Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) (Formerly known as Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment) services to help with job training, employment accommodations, resume development, and job seeking skills coaching. Other services may be provided to assist Veterans and Servicemembers in starting their own businesses or independent living services for those who are severely disabled and unable to work in traditional employment.
VA's Education and Career Counseling program is a great opportunity for Veterans and Servicemembers to get personalized counseling and support to help guide their career paths, ensure the most effective use of their VA benefits, and achieve their goals.
Vet Centers-

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling (individual, group, marriage and family counseling) to eligible Veterans, active duty Service members, members of the National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Vet Centers are located in easily accessible neighborhoods and are separate from VA Medical Centers and other VA locations to ensure confidential counseling and reduce barriers to care. There are 300 Vet Centers across the country, Puerto Rico, Guam , American Samoa and the US Virgin Islands. Veteran Directed Care (VDC)-

The Veteran Directed Care program provides Veterans greater choice and control over their long term services and supports. The Veteran Directed Care (VDC) program offers Veterans and their caregivers greater access, choice and control over the long-term services and supports (LTSS) that help Veterans live at home and remain a part of their community. Veterans enrolled in VDC decide for themselves what mix of goods and services best meet their needs. This includes the ability to hire, schedule and supervise their workers. The VDC program is currently offered at 62 VA Medical Centers across the country. All Veterans, regardless of age, who are enrolled in the VA health care system and meet the clinical need for the service, are eligible to participate in VDC if it is offered at a local VA Medical Center.

Heroes MAKE America:
Heroes MAKE America is The Manufacturing Institute’s initiative to build connections between the military community and the manufacturing industry. Our signature training program provides our participants with the skills and certifications needed to find and excel in careers in manufacturing. Our program is open to transitioning service members, veterans, National Guard, reservists and military spouses. TAPS-
The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) provides compassionate care and survivor support services for the families of America’s fallen military heroes. Since 1994, TAPS has offered support to more than 95,000 survivors of fallen military in the form of peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, grief seminars and retreats for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, casework assistance, connections to community-based care, online and in-person support groups and a 24/7 resource and information helpline for all who have been profoundly affected by a death of a military loved one. I have a temporary veterans choice card issued in July 2016 member ID number [login to see] . Our house burn down in November 2019 and my VA card was burned up I would like to get a permanent VA card, can you help
I'm an air-force vietnam veteran that served six years active duty and received a hearing disability of 100%, however, I'm only receiving $486.69 per month. How can I collect the full 100%
Yeah how do we get the old phone system back this bullshit of calling and being routed to a long ass queue only to have some barely knowledgeable person try to take a message for your health team is Bullshit. It causes miscommunication, longer phone calls sometimes multiple phone calls and instead of saving our health care teams time it is causing them more grief. I do not know if this is a national thing but the new system in Utah has got to go!

See your local county veteran's rep. If you have a case, they can help for free. EVERY US county has an office. It is not the VA's job to turn you down. If you check all the boxes, you will get your benefits.

I was hospitalized just before I got out for having a heart attack, had a life flight helicopter ride included. For some reason even though my records were full of documentation I was told there was no documentation when I was denied. So it isn't always so straight forward saying to check all the boxes.
I would like to know why as a DAV Vet we can not get top of the line hearing adds ? I have had hearing adds since the late 70tis an lately the quality of the adds that I have received are not as good as I could get at a commercial office ,which I can not afroed. I have been told that the ones that I got from the VA are the at the low end of unites on the market . I do not go to functions ,sporting events, or concerts ,I don't go out to restraint's very often as it is hard to hear over the noise. It is even hard to watch TV .I used to love to lesion music and now even that is goon to .
Why can I not get answer to not receiving a stimulus check. I understand that they waived all restrictions. My son did claim me but with the waiver why I am a disabled veteran and did not get a stimulus check . I hope someone will answer from the va since there is nobody to call to answer the question

According to the IRS, if a taxpayer claimed a parent or any other relative age 17 or older on their tax return, that dependent will not receive a $1,200 stimulus payment. you refuse to wear a mask "because" you are a disabled vet? Doesn't have anything to do with wearing or not wearing one. You missed your appointment because you didn't follow the rules. Did you wear a seatbelt when you drove or were driven to the appointment? Did you drive the speed limit and follow all the rules of the road such as stopping at stop signs and yielding to other traffic when required? Do you follow all of societies other rules and norms such as wearing clothes when outside of your home? Do you refrain from punching everyone you see because you are angry? You know the common courtesy stuff most Americans just take for granted because we know that is how a civilized society works. Oh and the Swine Flu killed 12-13k in the U.S. over a 1 year period while COVID19 has killed over 140k in less than 6 months. So please stop posting misinformation and please do wear your mask, President Trump says it is the patriotic thing to do and I actually believe him.

I have waited almost 5 years for multiple dental mistakes were made on me, causing me to lose all my top teeth, after 3 emergency dental surgeries in the last 12-13 months I am left with no top teeth, a ton of suffering..and now the VA Dental debt is telling me its going to be a long time before I get a plate to replace my teeth, which should have never been ground out in the first place. This was numerous mistakes, documented. I just want to smile in 1 picture with my granddaughter. Maybe go on a date.. or eat and be able to chew. 5 years ? Seriously?
