VBA-
The Office of Transition and Economic Developments (TED) mission is to ease the Veteran’s transition experience. Established in 2018, by the Under Secretary of Benefits, the Office of Transition and Economic Development is VBA’s newest business line, creating accountability and transparency as VA’s authority on the military life cycle and transition assistance. From when you first join the military to when you start your post-military life, TED is here to help you achieve success anytime, anywhere.
Mental Health and Suicide Prevention-
VA's public health strategy to suicide prevention combines partnerships with communities to implement tailored, local prevention plans, while also focusing on evidence based clinical strategies for intervention. Our approach focuses on what we can do now, in the short term, as well as what we can do in the long term, to implement VA’s National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide. Many Veterans may not engage with VHA, so it is necessary to collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to provide Veterans with resources, evidenced-based therapies, and the tools they need to reach them where they live, work, and thrive. Together, we all make a difference.
Appeals-
https://rly.pt/VAdecisionreviews

The Board is responsible for making final decisions on behalf of the Secretary regarding appeals for Veterans’ benefits and services from all three administrations - Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and National Cemetery Administration (NCA)—as well as the Office of General Counsel (OGC)that are presented to the Board for appellate review. The Board’s jurisdiction extends to all questions in a matter involving a decision by the Secretary under the law that affects a provision of benefits by the Secretary to Veterans, their dependents, or their survivors. 38 U.S.C. §§ 511(a); 7104(a). Final decisions on appeals are made by the Board based on the entire record in the proceeding and all applicable provisions of law and regulation. 38 U.S.C. § 7104(a).

BLUF:What now.
My job is amazing. I work as a Safety manager and an environmental Coordinator (government employee). Finished my bachelors in business management with the GI bill in 2008, cancer in 2014, multiple surgeries/chemo/radiation, etc. Lost several organs, run like a broken frog, neuropathy on the left side, stents in my veins so they don’t cave in, lost my left kidney due to too much radiation and have migraines (vomiting, lost bowels sometimes) now between 3-5x a week. I am returning to school to reinvent myself before the migraines take every day of the week. I sometimes cannot remember what I was currently doing. There’s also the fun of a deep vibration that will pop off in my head and make me dizzy/not hear/sight is cock-eyed for 30 straight seconds...then completely disappear. The mind is failing me and I am trying to get my masters (I am paying for it) before it is gone....but, I have straight A’s! Too young to retire, too much pain and physically broken to keep my job and the money is really good. What do I do now? Oh, and my spouse is still active duty. We will not know if he gets promoted or retires until the very last minute (Jan 2021.) Either here is promoted or has 5/6 months left. Whew!

Jessica Schiefer
Rhonda Fancera - thank you for reaching out and advocating on behalf of your husband. I am truly sorry to hear about this. I represent VA's Vet Centers that actually were originally founded by Vietnam Veterans, for Vietnam Veterans. It is our job and honor to provide counseling services to those who served in Vietnam, among others. This includes socio-economic needs, helping to advocate and connect people such as your husband to available resources. We would love to see how we may assist, and if there's anything else the both of you could benefit from that we provide. If it sounds like something you would be interested in, I would love to have your local Vet Center outreach specialist connect with you and your husband. Please feel free to send me your zip code and a telephone number or email address you can be contacted at. It is with humble gratitude to say to your husband, "Welcome Home."
MAJ Eva Weatherley
Thank you for posting your comment. The VA can submit a specific request to the NPRC for any additional service records they may have or can find for your husband. The NPRC searches for documents that may help to reconstruct the destroyed records. They may also reach out to other government agencies. For example, they may try to reconstruct portions of the service treatment records by reviewing unit records, morning reports, and hospital admission records from the surgeon general's office. Please visit the following website for more information regarding reconstructing your husband's records: https://www.va.gov/records/get-military-service-records/reconstruct-records/

First and foremost, God Bless you all! My question is where can I find help to get back on the road to keep working. I lost my job due to Covid just three months after relocating for the position. I just need to remain mobile with reliable transportation so that I can get to and from a new job. I have a vehicle that is inoperable and in need of major repair. What resource(s) are available to make this possible?

Please check out these valuable resources at: https://www.taps.org/covid/government. From here you will also be able to connect with our page dedicated to resources by each state, resources for Military survivors, and resources for the American Public.
