Hi,

How do I get a representative to help with my claim? I would like to appeal the decision.

Local VA has representatives. Some countries have them as well. I'll dig through some of my training and see if I can find anything else that may help.

Thank you for your question. You do not require an additional representative to appeal your decision, but if you would like to appoint one to assist you, more information can be found at the following site: https://www.va.gov/vso/

Is there an organization that connects veterans for much needed social interactions? One of my residents is in dire need of consistently occurring conversations with those he can identify with intellectually or on the basis of being a veteran.

Peer Support services can be great for that. Try these resources: https://veteransrecoveryresources.org/services/peer-support/

I met the requirement for a VA medical card but am still working and have my employer medical insurance so I don't now need VA medical help. If I retire and lose my employers insurance, is there any VA medical help for my wife?

One last question. I have been trying for awhile to get ALL of my VA medical records. I know about the "Blue Button" on myhealthyvet, but the issue is that MOST of my records are not included with that service. I was told that I need to file a FOIA request to gain access to my records. I was given this https://www.va.gov/foia/ link. I have spent time on that website and still not able to figure out how to submit a FOIA request and who to submit it to. It's difficult to understand how organizations can do this easily, but it's difficult for the veteran to obtain his/her own records.
Again thank you all for doing this.

During this time, personnel will not have access to requests submitted to FOIA offices via hard copy mail and facsimile and there will be a delay in responses to such correspondence as well as the processing of requests and appeals. We encourage you to file your new requests or appeals using our electronic submission form at https://www.va.gov/FOIA/Requests.asp or by email to [login to see] .

My niece just turned 18 and moved out of a bad situation in her parents home. Her father is a disable vet. I'm tying to help her find out what services may be available to her for health care and schooling. or any other services.
