Hi SPC Woodard, Have you had a chance to review their career page? If not here is the link https://rly.pt/USAA
The Honorable Cheryl Mason
Good afternoon,
I appreciate your questions.
If you need to check the status of your appeal, you can call [login to see] or go to va.gov and check the status of your claim or appeal through the tracker under the disability compensation tab.
If you a military spouse and interested in employment with VA - check out VA Careers website at https://www.vacareers.va.gov/Careers or go to USAJOBS.

Not every veteran leaves the service after 10-20 years. What are the options for entry-level or OJT positions?

Hello Jan; Please visit our jobs page at jobs.walgreens.com and sort by the location and jobs titles that would be best for you. You can use the "keyword" field to search by title and then sort by the locations that work for you. We have roles such as Shift Lead, Customer Service Associate etc. that you may be interested in.

On any given day USAA has an average of 300-500 jobs posted on usaajobs.com. The bulk of that hiring is related to Pipeline roles which are considered high volume, such as Members Services Representatives. These types of roles are perfect for veterans and military spouses that are transitioning after a few years of service.

MSG Darren Sherrard - Not exactly the case in Atlanta. I track these positions in helping a family member who is a veteran. Most are internal to the agency or higher level. No GS-3, 4 or 5.

Working for a State Agency in California as a LVER, Local Veterans Employment Representative, and am wondering: how many of the companies on the discussion have Military Translators on their hiring pages so that a Veteran can easily look into certain positions within a company based upon their MOS? I know so do, but not all...if I am correct?

ALSO, I get emails from certain companies/Recruiters from certain companies (on this discussion board) stating that we can email them back with potential applicants, but when this happens, it takes a very long time to get some type of response. Is there some way we can get not only the Recruiter info for our area (Region/State), but also a local contact who knows what the Recruiter is doing (putting out there that there are positions within the company, within our local communities -- there seems to be a disconnect between the Recruiter and the local POC for said company. The local POC tells us THEY ARE NOT HIRING, even after showing them the emails/fliers the Recruiters are publishing. This really disheartens Veteran job seekers and really puts a stain on the company...especially when companies tout that they are a "Veteran-friendly" company. I know there are other ways the employer can tout they are Veteran-friendly, but this initial experience ruins things.

Hello Juan; how are you? Walgreens doesn't have military translators on our hiring pages but we are open to interviewing veterans for a variety of different roles both within the stores and corporate roles. We have a dedicated team at our corporate office focused on hiring veterans and are in the process of selecting team members on a local level to assist with the hiring efforts in their particular regions. We are always hiring and the veterans can review opportunities and apply at jobs.walgreens.com

Thank you for the response, very graceful. I’ll admit my Q was a bit snarky but based on the threads & my own experience, I figured what better place to start an honest conversation. Now, I don’t think you could have done a better job at demeaning people w foreign degrees or your house keeping staff. Bravo! Thanks again for demonstrating what the VA has to offer, the award is all yours.

Question for VA, does the 180 day rule apply to VA positions? (Need to wait 180 days from actual retirement date before start of employment)
