VA is hiring for a wide variety of positions, including health care and IT professionals, police officers, housekeeping staff, executive leaders and health care management professionals. Explore career opportunities that fit your interests and skills at vacareers.va.gov.
What does it take to get hired on at the VA? I applied for two jobs quite some time ago, but never heard anything back. I figured they were looking for something else or I simply was over qualified. I found it unusual because I kept being told to apply for a job at the VA. After time passes, I start seeing people I had seen in different positions relocate to new positions. I ask them how they like their new jobs, and they say great. How is it multiple people are moved all around but I can't even get a job there? I found it rather odd. By the way, I would chat withother veterans waiting for appts, and they could actually tell me who used to work where. It just makes me wonder.

Major Michael Kelly! Hi! I am a USAA member since 1975 and have applied for a full & part time job at USAA with no luck over the years. Maybe it was because I am a RN & they had no vacanciess but would now like to apply for a PT position either from home or on location nd not necessarily as a RN. Can you please connect with me to discover any potential possibilities? Thanks! Jerry Gonzales, LTC (Ret Army), RN, MHA-San Antonio Email: [login to see]

USAA has sort of turned into the VA sorry to say. There is much collaboration between USAA Main Office and VA Main Office in San Antonio/Austin TX sort of strange but true.
Maj Michael Kelly
Unfortunately, USAA does not have any job requisitions in the field your are interested in. We do have medical clinics in our different locations, however, they are staffed with contractors to support the campuses.
