Maj James Wood - Working for a State Agency in California as a LVER, Local Veterans Employment Representative, and am wondering: how many of the companies on the discussion have Military Translators on their hiring pages so that a Veteran can easily look into certain positions within a company based upon their MOS? I know so do, but not all...if I am correct?
ALSO, I get emails from certain companies/Recruiters from certain companies (on this discussion board) stating that we can email them back with potential applicants, but when this happens, it takes a very long time to get some type of response. Is there some way we can get not only the Recruiter info for our area (Region/State), but also a local contact who knows what the Recruiter is doing (putting out there that there are positions within the company, within our local communities -- there seems to be a disconnect between the Recruiter and the local POC for said company. The local POC tells us THEY ARE NOT HIRING, even after showing them the emails/fliers the Recruiters are publishing. This really disheartens Veteran job seekers and really puts a stain on the company...especially when companies tout that they are a "Veteran-friendly" company. I know there are other ways the employer can tout they are Veteran-friendly, but this initial experience ruins things.

The Board responded with a remand, directing the Education Official to justify their decision to withhold my San Diego BAH. There was no time-frame listed on their decision, does the 16-24 month wait time apply in this case?

Diana, we have HR roles in a variety of locations across the country and some involve remote work opportunities. Please check into careers.walmart.com to explore the options.
Maj James Wood
Hello Diana; we do have HR positions available but they are typically in-office roles. On occasion, there are opportunities to work remotely but this is not always guaranteed. During the pandemic, we have allowed for people to work remotely if possible but it may return to in-office following the pandemic.

COL Parmeter, as logistician and former inspector General at the senior level. Compliance is a big deal in today's environment, what advice can you share in using my background at Walmart? Would you recommend taking a civilian compliance course since the Inspector General course is a skill identifier in the military, but not a certification in the civilian world?
I am a veteran and am looking for a work from home position, do you have any tips or advice

Lot's of opportunities with Walmart in this are as well. Check into careers.walmart.com to explore the options.

Although I appreciate that, I have conferred with Congressman Steve Scalise on my status, and am awaiting a return reply from my attorney as well. The info you are referencing is NOT very detailed, and is missing info to validate where my Appeal stands at. Thank You! Blessings, John

Question for Maj Michael Kelly, VP Military Advocacy at USAA. What should one do if the corp recruiter at USAA is not returning emails after a week. I figure at this point I did not get the job, but I want to make sure as i would love to work with USAA. Also does USAA have a veterans preference and if so how should one craft there resume and/or application so it is recognized in the system.
Good Evening, I work for HELPUSA, this is a tranisitional housing complex for veterans only. I am the Employment Specialist for the organization. Are we consider a source for veteran employment with your agencies?
this question goes to cheryl mason , my step dad passed away in 2012 an an we tried to get DIC for my mom the initial report said that he probraably didnt die of the cancer that he had while on active duty , so we appealed the decision an was denied again , an we was told that its final an no other way of trying to get DIC for my mom . my question to you is i think the answer we got saying the word probrably is correct for getting a correct answer on this , i think if there is doubt it should be awarded to my mom , when my step dad died she was left with no income being married to him for 33 years i believe she deserves a more positive answer where there is no question from the report what caused his death, thank you for taking the time to answer this question because if we could get a appeals judge to look at this again i think it would turn out different an that is a important for my mom .
thank you
