Apply for an event honoring veterans of conflicts in the Middle East
On Saturday, July 23, Old Glory Honor Flight will be holding Operation at Ease '16. This event will recognize and thank U.S. military veterans of conflicts in the Middle East, including Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation New Dawn.
Veterans will be transported via motor coach to the Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville, WI to participate in the dedication ceremonies for the new Persian Gulf Tribute Memorial.
Events like these help to show veterans that their service is appreciated. "We have seen firsthand the healing power of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C. and we are hopeful that the Highground Persian Gulf Tribute Memorial will provide the same benefits for our Desert Shield, Desert Storm, OEF and OIF and OND vets," said Old Glory President Drew MacDonald.
If you are a veteran of these conflicts, or you know a veteran who may be interested, please visit oldgloryhonorflight.org to apply. A maximum of 120 applicants will be chosen at random to participate in the event. Priority will be given to veterans residing in the Northeast Wisconsin region.
The event is completely free to the veteran. Applications must be received by June 18 to be eligible for selection.
