The initial plan was to fly the space tourists, whose identities are a tightly held secret, on a Falcon Heavy. That’s the massive SpaceX rocket that delivered Musk’s Tesla into space for its historic, inaugural flight four months ago.
But Musk threw a curve ball in February when he told reporters that, for the time being, SpaceX had no plans to certify the Falcon Heavy for human spaceflight. That implied that his plans to use it to transport space tourists have changed.
Instead, Musk said, SpaceX would turn its focus to its next bold idea: The Big Falcon Rocket, or BFR. That’s the gargantuan spaceship and rocket system that the company wants to build to carry humans into deep space—https://www.nasa.gov/johnson/exploration/deep-space.

Thank you for sharing this information with us. It will be interesting to see how far they get in the next 10 or 20 years. Technology changes so fast.

I think it should he totally legally named...spaceflight is not, and should not, be construed as an entertainment resort for the wealthy...that:s my view as a serious scientist, despite my disablity...I realize others here will obv disagree, I expect that, of anyone would wish me to elaborate as to why I think it, I'd certainly be most willing to do so, however, that is my very earnest view, homest...I'm utterly unimpressed, and consider it a total boondoggle an utter waste of technology and resources, honest....

I spent !any, !any years, learning science, doing science, living science...I don't care how many billions some entrepreneur has to invest in what is, for him, at least to my mind, merely a hobby, avocation, and affectation...I don't care how many prototypes of landing rockets he builds, how many spaceflights he funds, or helps get funded...my view, after having devoted I assure you, quite literally decades of my existence to serious science, for all the aforementioned reasons, is that it is most definitely not some sort of roller coaster ride for some wealthy thrill seeker...that is the essence of my thought profess, I'd be most eager for your further thoughts, should you wish more material, please let !e know, I'll try to send you more suitable sites in the !eqmwhile, many thanks, I hope it wasmqll at least of some measure of interest....
