I am currently in the 13M MLRS/ HIMARS Crewmember A.I.T. at Ft. Sill. I would like to know what deployment is like (if 13Ms still deploy), would I be doing "my job" or would I be filling more a support role? Where can 13Ms be stationed, and of those what are your opinions of those locations? Any help would be appreciated.

To be honest you may deploy in your field or your unit may be retasked. We had FA cover down as our mayor cell while deployed and also stole some of their guys to run route clearance with one of our battalions. All depends on the needs of the Army.

Not sure where you would get stationed now but when I was in 91-95 typical first duty station was at fort sill itself or like me and a bunch of others we got Korea as 1st duty station. That is as much as I can help cause as far as I understand camp essionce isn't open anymore. But I think CRC and camp Casey is still open. (CRC Is camp red cloud).

This MOS is limited on locations. I was a 13M for four years and only saw FT Sill as my duty station. When we deployed in 2005 the need for MLRS in Iraq was negligable, so we took a crosstraining to drive HETs. It was my favorite deployment, though.
