Currently going to Arifjan as a 13R in support of OIR. This was a last minute change and so now I'm left with not much info. Could anyone shed light on what the job is like there, how likely it is to get missions in other places, any military schools we can take while there(especially with COVID-19)?

Im currently there and due to COVID there isn't alot of travel and MWR is still mostly down. Idk what it will be like for you but my Soldiers mostly do a 9-5 job.

Well, as an artillery radar operator, you may end up at Camp Beuhring, it isn't as cushy as Camp Arifjan, but not combat.
Get used to sand in your face.
I was at Arifjan, (25U) Dec 2016-July 2017 - 29th ID, Spartan Shield OER, It was not a bad deployment - should I say, a PCS, cause it was a 9-5 job, Quarters was at zone 6, job was in zone 1, heck of a walk, get used to going to the pool, PX and chow hall, the MWR hut at zone 6 was being renovated when I was there, so the movies and gym were the places to go. If you manage your time right, you can leave pretty fit.
You will wake up to reveille and the Theme to the movie Patton - it is 3rd Army after all.
Get into ARCENT University as soon as you can and get all the classes you can fit - certifications too.
The food is incredible for DEFAC
