Amphibious vehicles are always extra iffy. Glad no one was killed.
I was driving an M113 for a swim lesson and the engine blew.
I was grateful I did not have to swim test. More than a few sank like rocks.

Our maintenance boys use to attach a tow cable to the M-113's when they did, just in case of a malfunction in the carrier.
