...VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER IN THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH VALLEYS
TODAY...
...CHILLY NIGHT TONIGHT WITH FROST EXPECTED...

This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

The mountains and high valleys will see very high fire danger
today with gusty winds to around 40 mph and humidities dropping
under 15 percent, and a a few spots below 10 percent. Even the
higher foothill areas will see increasing fire danger as the
gusty downslope winds develop. Fire weather conditions will
improve by sunset as winds decrease.

Temperatures will be rather chilly tonight, and the season`s
first frost is expected across the majority of the plains as
temperatures drop into the 32 to 36 degree range. The immediate
Denver and Boulder area should be a couple degrees warmer, with
only patchy frost possible in low lying areas. Take precautions
and move frost sensitive plants indoors.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Fire danger will remain high over the mountain valleys Friday and
Saturday due to gusty and dry westerly winds. Meanwhile, fire
danger will be much lower across the plains due to the past couple
days of cool temperatures and precipitation.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.

URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
158 PM MDT Wed Oct 2 2019

...VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER CONTINUES ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH
VALLEYS THIS AFTERNOON AND FRIDAY...

.Strong winds and humidities dropping below 10 percent will
produce very high fire danger over most of the central and
northern Colorado mountains through early evening.

The fire danger will remain elevated through much of this week
and through the weekend, with occasional bouts of gusty winds,
low humidity, and no meaningful precipitation. At this time it
looks like the most dangerous conditions will be on Friday when
even stronger winds are expected.
