What can I do to prepare myself for the school? I’m a slow learner and I fear I might get sent home for not figuring it out. I’m still waiting on a slot to open up so I have time to research any tips you have to offer?

The biggest help is CTRL+F. Use this to search your PDF files. It will save you a lot of time.

The program is not geared to fail you. The only thing that can fail you is you. There will be plenty of opportunities for study hall. Q&A in the class. Downtime in the barracks for you to study. Find someone in your unit that has just recently been to the course and pick their brains and see if they still have any of their study material.

MSG (Join to see) I know that when I went to WLC in 2015 - they made sure all of our materials were gathered and turned in before we graduated so we didnt give future students the answers or whatever the reason was.

SSG (Join to see) - Did that include personal notebooks that Soldiers took notes in? I can understand them taking back actual handed out class materials....but personal notebooks?

MSG (Join to see) We actually weren't allowed to have personal notebooks. All the materials we needed were provided to us on our computers. I thought it was a tad wierd that we couldn't take our own notes but throughout the course, I realized that I didnt need to take notes. Plus, as another commenter had stated - all of our tests at the time were open book and CTRL+F was indeed our best friend. Now - a lot of things have changed since it became BLC. My fiance just went through BLC at Camp Shelby, Mississippi and he had alot of essays to do and many other things that I didnt have to do. The course and the course work has changed a lot since I went back in 2015.

MSG (Join to see) - It's changed a lot even since it first became WLC. I went when it just switched from PLDC to WLC and I think we did very little on computers. It sounds like now it's mostly if not all on computers. I can't remember if we could have notebooks or not. That was in 2007.

It’s the hardest thing you are ever going to do, nothing can prepare you. You’re going to have to sit at a desk, listen to an NCO talk about paperwork, and then take some tests. All this, along with some marching around, and then you will have to say the NCO creed. I don’t know how anyone can do it.

The hardest part, for me, was staying awake in class after eating a big breakfast. So don’t eat a big breakfast, stick to fruit cups and yogurt. It’s an admin school.
