I have looked over DA PAM 600-25 for guidance. What certification would you recommend pursuing ?

Currently Security+ certified. I have plans on possibly going Warrant or either 25D in the future.

SSG (Join to see) Here are two O'Reilly reference books that I recommend:
1) TCP/IP Network Administration by Craig Hunt
2) Practical UNIX and Internet Security by Simson Garfinkel, Gene Spafford, and Alan Schwartz.
Both will dovetail nicely with your Security+ and SFAB assignment (should you be selected). Costs associated with obtaining different certs may be covered under the GI Bill (be sure to ask). Any certifications from Cisco will likely require re-up after 3 years (at least that's how they've been in the past). If I had to do it all over again, I'd give some serious thought to the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) credential. Check it out here: https://www.offensive-security.com/

Much appreciated sir thank you. I have OSCP on my bucket list of certifications. I’m currently continuing to gain hands on knowledge to better prepare for the higher tier certs. After speaking with several hiring agencies they tend to lean more towards on what you know rather than what cert you actually hold.

If you're wondering what to go for to be competitive just open up the 25D application and look at the required and recommended certs. When you meet those, open the 600-25 and career map for 25D and go for those

Thank you SFC Boyd. I have done some research for the recommended certs as well as reached out to an old NCO of mine who has made the transition to 25D. I would’ve applied now however I recently volunteered for an SFAB assignment.
