Anyone have good stories of Ft. Stewart, GA?

Looking for any old stories of past military being stationed at Ft. Stewart Ga.

I was stationed there from 93-96. I detested the leadership environment in my first unit (2-7 In), but I really enjoyed everything about my second unit (724 MSB). Overall, we have good memories of the time there. We spent lots of time visiting friends and family outside of Hinesville though (Savannah, Hilton Head, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Columbia, etc.), so that certainly helped.

I too was in 2-7 during the same period (S-3 shop) and vividly remember the dysfunction that permeated from the Battalion level. I'll never forget the unfortunate NTC episode where the only concern over the net was "are the sensitive items accounted for" as his first inquiry.

SGT Tony Silva - I remember that rotation well. I was the Medical Platoon Leader at the time. We lost LT Burke and SFC Dimitroff in that accident. What a sad day.

I was working as the Battalion RTO at the time and the initial chaos was unbelievable. Major K actually ordered me off net and took the duties after that outburst. It was a very tragic day indeed.
