I have a funny story to relay, from an interaction I had this weekend with an Army Recruiter.

As I've posted before, my oldest boy wants to go in to the service as an armorer or something similar to learn our weapons systems to be able to eventually become a weapons designer and build better small arms and tow-able sized weapons for our troops.

So this past Sat I went in to the local recruiting office to talk to an Army Recruiter. As I walk in and am greeted with the standard "Good afternoon, how may I help you" I proceed to tell this very young looking SSG that I am interested in getting some info on information needed and requirements for enlisting. Yes, I posed the question that way on purpose, just to see what would happen.

Keep in mind, I am 41, bald and had a beard at the time and am 6' 225 Lbs. The look on this guys face was simply priceless. I quickly let him know I was getting info for my Son. But for that minute or so after I introduced myself I have a feeling this guy was questioning his decision to become a recruiter.

Hey, the AF raised it's age to 38. I figure when I retire, I can join up again. Starting over would suck though.
