Initiated in 2012 by Adm. Bill McRaven, then-chief of US Special Operations Command, POTFF (Preservation of the Force and Families) ensures that the unique resiliency challenges faced by special tactics airmen are recognized and addressed by providing chaplains, physical therapists, social workers, and mental health counselors who integrate into the unit to build familiarity with the special operators and provide personal services whenever they are needed.

MSgt Ken "Airsoldier" Collins-Hardy Thank you, sir, for sharing this. It is imperative that we give our elite members the same options to vent & get therapy for the unique situations they face/see on a daily basis. PJ school is called Superman School, but even Supermen need an outlet to process the stuff they see/do. Integrating these individuals w/ these units is a WONDERFUL way to allow the therapists to have a unique view of what was being brought to them. I would think that, without this integration, some of the things would be pretty unbelievable.

Hey Sir! Thank you for inviting me to this chatter.

Yes, I do see it first hand here at the mother-ship. Preservation of the Force and Families (POTFF) regularly advertises opportunities and events to aid anyone that requires it. During our SEL meetings the POTFF SGM lets us know ahead of time to filter it down to the troops.

Their full time staff includes Family Life Counselors, Behavioral Health team, Social Workers, Command Psychologist, Peer-to-peer support, a wonderful Chaplain and a whole host of wonderful others that maintain the quality of mind. There is no shortage of help nor a stigma when one needs it.
