.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A high pressure ridge over the
waters will shift S of the region today into tonight. A strong
cold front will approach the coast late today, and move E and SE
across the waters tonight into Wed. The front will stall over the
southern waters Wed night into Thu night, then drift N as a warm
front Fri and Fri night. High pressure will build E and SE over
the northern waters Wed night into Thu night, and then will
strengthen and shift E and NE of the area later Thu night into
Fri night. Low pressure will develop along the SE coast Thu
night, and then will move N along the coast Fri into Sat while
pulling a cold front over the area. The front will then slow and
stall over the waters Sat night.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central North Carolina,
northwest North Carolina, central Virginia, south central Virginia,
southwest Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast West
Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and
evening. The primary threat is damaging wind. Large hail and isolated
tornadoes, as well as flash flooding are also possible.

Be prepared for hazardous weather by monitoring for possible severe
weather watches and warnings from the National Weather Service, and
be prepared to take quick action if needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

A strong front and ample moisture will lead to severe thunderstorms
with damaging winds, large hail, a few tornadoes, and locally heavy
rain for parts of the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic. Locally heavy
showers and thunderstorms also possible along the Gulf Coast,
southwest and Northwest. Much above normal temperatures
continue in the West, especially, the Northwest.
