There is no appreciation of what we have here in this country in some places. They would sell their freedoms for a meal ticket they didn't have to work for.

This cartoon illustrates what happens when people are free, fat and happy with very few outside threats and are too self indulged for their own good vs. people yearning to be free. The free people want chains, the chained people want freedom. The "free" people will never understand the irony.

People tend not to appreciate what they didn't work (or bleed) for. That's why most of the military appreciates the Bill of Rights while most of our civilian counterparts have no clue. We've been in places where they don't have it.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - We know that we have too small a military for everyone to serve. We have less than two million total at any one time and a nation of 320 million. We used to rely on schools to teach civics and history and parents to raise patriots. Both are failing to do so.

MSgt David Hoffman - Agreed on the veteran number but my point was we cannot expect a nation with a <2 million total armed force to have everyone serve to get the picture on how good we have it.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I wonder how long it will take for those who wish to give up freedoms for "freebees" to realize, once they lose their freedom that they will work for those "freebees" for nothing more than minimal food and shelter. These are not people concerned with the future of the planet or future generations, they are only concerned with NOW and what they can get for nothing.

Rather than letting them destroy our nation, I propose we ship them to Venezuela for a year old vacation.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Yes,Ma'am. As you mentioned in your response to Cpl Jeff N. --Those of us that have been in places where the things we take for granted are not accessible by many, know the the freedom we enjoy here.People living in thrown together "shelters" made of cardboard or a piece of tin with a couple of discarded boards holding it up. Maybe having a cup of rice or piece of bread to sustain them for the day.We have "homeless",but the people in some of those places would be considered homeless by our standards because of their living conditions. Electricity, running water and sewer systems are a given for the majority of us ,in many countries it is quite the opposite.I will end rant now, i just get tired of people wanting more free stuff, when they are living in what people of many other nations would call luxury.
